A thrilling two run win by YMCA was enough to end Clontarf's Premier League hopes and hand the title to Merrion.

Visitors YMCA won a thrilling 20 over clash winning by 2 runs against Clontarf and in doing so ended the home side's chances of league glory.

YM skipper Jack Tector won the toss and elected to bat but it was younger brother Harry who starred scoring a brilliant 65 in a total of 123/8, Sameer Dutt with 3-13 the best of the Clontarf bowlers.

With Pienaar, Poynter and Forrest all falling to Padraic Flanagan, Clontarf were 60/4 at the half way mark five runs ahead of YM at the same point but having lost two more wickets.

Clontarf were not able to close things out and entering the last over needing 13 to win and keep their challenge alive.
A six from Sameer Dutt off the fifth ball of the over kept interest going but in the end Clontarf came up short.

Merrion sit an unreachable 33 points clear at the top of the table and will enter the Irish Senior Cup Final this weekend as Leinster Premier League Champions.
