There was a fantastic turnout for the official opening of Newbuildings' changing rooms and clubhouse facility on Sunday as the North West's newest senior club completed the next phase of their development programme.
Chairman Raymond Mitchell said he was delighted with the attendance and in particular those who had shown great support for the club's efforts.
"On behalf of Newbuildings Cricket Club I would like to thank those who attended the event. Particular thanks to David O'Connor, President-elect of Cricket Ireland and Martin Russell from The Hills who made a special effort to be there.
"Thanks also to former President Joe Doherty as well as Maurice Devenney and Deputy Mayor Derek Hussey and of course a great friend of our club, NWCU President Connie McAllister.
"It was a special day for Newbuildings CC and while we were celebrating the completion of one phase of work, we certainly won't be stopping here.
"Newbuildings now has youth teams at under-11, under-13 and under-15 and we are determined to provide a facility for them that everyone in the village will be proud of.
"Next up will be ground requirements- sight screens and the likes, as we gradually bring everything up to where we want it to be."
There was a special unveiling ceremony where it was revealed that the ground will be known as 'Foyleview'.
The Super-6 competition that accompanied Sunday's opening was won by Brigade who defeated the hosts in the final.
