Half centuries from Tim Tector and Nathan McGuire led Ireland U15s to a series clinching win against Scotland at Oak Hill.

Rush opener McGuire hit 61 from 87 balls (8 fours) to get the Irish off to a strong start, but Scotland's stand-out performer Charlie Peet took three wickets to bring Scotland back into the mix at 137 for 5.

Skipper Tector was yet again among the runs, hitting three sixes and four boundaries in a top score of 66, while Ireland finished strongly after he fell.

Cian Egerton (41*) and Ben Brownlee (32) added 74 for the 7th wicket helping Ireland to an above par 248 for 8.

Brownlee then took three early wickets to have Scotland in deep trouble at 28 for 3, before the middle order rallied.

Peet (42) and Jamie Cairns (38) added 75 for the 5th wicket as the match ebbed and flowed towards an exciting finish.

The Irish attack stuck to their task well, with Matthew Humphreys (2-30) taking two wickets and one apiece for David Vincent, Jamie Forbes, Matthew Daly and Stuart Kennedy as 'The Boys In Green' clinched a 29-run win.

An excellent series between two evenly matched teams, which was a credit to all.
