Una Raymond-Hoey will captain a strong 13-player squad to play four T20 matches against Scotland Under-19s at Uddingston next week.
The Clontarf opener will be at the helm of a squad which features a number of players who have tasted senior international cricket in recent years, including Cara Murray, Lara Maritz and Rebecca Stokell, who were part of the recent T20 World Cup Qualifier squad that successfully qualified for the World Cup in November.
Carrie Archer, member of the panel of Ireland Women’s Selectors, said: "We are hoping that this series will become a more regular fixture in the calendar.
"Fixtures for the Ireland Women’s A team provide that vital bridge between under-age / Academy squads and the senior national squad. It allows coaches and selectors an opportunity to see more players compete at a high level.
"With the Irish Under-15's also travelling to Malvern this weekend, there are many developing players who will have the opportunity to work closely with coaches and support staff, thereby giving them more insight and appreciation of what is involved in being an international cricketer.
Ireland Women's Head Coach Aaron Hamilton will coach the side, with Clontarf's overseas player Kerry Tomlinson nominated as his assistant.
The squad will play four T20 games, with two on the Monday and a further two on the Wednesday.
