Alex Stiles' brilliant unbeaten 137 led Ireland Under 17s to a six-wicket win over Worcestershire in the latest match of their ongoing series in England.
The Railway Union batsman showed just why he is so highly rated in Irish circles as he struck 21 fours and 2 sixes in his 123-ball innings as 'The Boys in Green' chased 251 to win with eight overs to spare.
He shared stands of 63 with skipper Neil Rock (31), 77 with Max Burton (27) and an unbroken 84 in just 12 overs with JJ Garth (28*) in a textbook pursuit of a potentially tricky target.
The Pembroke pair of Gavin Hoey (3-33) and JJ Garth (3-45) each took three wickets, while Cian Nulty (2-54), and Gregory McFaul (1-48) were the other wicket takers in an impressive display by the bowling unit.
The teams drew their two-day match earlier in the week, and their series continues on Friday with two matches in the T20 format.
Ireland then take on traditional foes Scotland in the Celtic Cup series next month.
