WARINGSTOWN hosted a Legends night on Friday at The Lawn, a celebration of the club’s phenomenal success since the first of their 30 Challenge Cup victories since 1965.

The current champions have also won the Premier League 23 times in that period.

Every Waringstown 1st XI player from the last 54 seasons was invited (203 were tracked down) and a superb night of food, stories and wine was enjoyed by all.

The furthest traveller was Bertie McGill, who flew in from Australia, while Alvin Spence, a member of the 1992 Dream Team, is living in America and enjoyed catching up with his ex team-mates.

Every player present received a numbered cap and a season-by-season list of their career from statistics compiled by John Boomer, with help from CricketEurope colleague Ian Johnston.
