The final of this season’s Eric Cooke Cup will see Bonds Glen tackle Newbuildings at Glendermott this coming Sunday with action set to get under way at 12 noon.

Championship clubs already seem to have a soft spot for this trophy- now in its fourth season- and it is sure to be another keenly contested affair.

Despite their lowly league position the Bee Gees dug deep to beat Glendermott by a single run in their semi-final and they will be nobody’s mugs here.

Newbuildings will start favourites despite a disappointing season in the league themselves, but with plenty of players in either side who like to hit the ball, it is likely to be an entertaining game.

High-flying Bready will play Brigade in the Faughan Valley decider at 4pm and admission to both games is £5 (£3 concession) which will go directly to the Derry Midweek League’s Charity Fund.
