There was double disappointment for Leinster U17 girls on the opening day of the Malvern Festival as they lost both games against Wales.

Maria Kerrison and Jenny Sparrow took two wickets apiece as Wales made 141 for 8 in the first game.

Isabel Saeed-Maguire top scored with 19 and Sarah Forbes hit 18 as Leinster replied with 92 for 8.

A disappointing batting display saw Leinster make only 55 in the other game.
