The race for the NW Ladies title is hotting up with Fox Lodge and Strabane Saints leading the way after the latest round of games.

Fox Lodge benefitted from Burndennett's decision to forfeit the game as they had players away on holiday, cementing their unbeaten run.

That meant only one game went ahead with Killyclooney taking on title chasing Strabane Saints.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Killyclooney got off to a disappointing start by losing their top four batters for 24 runs in the opening six overs courtesy of a first-rate bowling performances from Anji McPorter (2-9) and teenager Chloe Deans (2-24).

Lucy Robinson (48*) and Cody Wallace (31) led a spirited fightback and got Killyclooney up to a decent total of 105 for 5 in their 20 overs.

What could have been a challenging total was made to look comfortable as Hazel Magee (65) and Anji McPorter (25*) achieved the eight wicket win in just 13.1 overs.

It promises to be an exciting climax to the race for the championship crown which will be decided between the top two teams in the region.

They will also meet in the Ladies Cup final - the NW have yet to set a date and venue with July 27th at Bready the favoured option despite it clashing with the men's final.
