The only competition in the Leinster Senior Cup quarter-final action was for the biggest margin of victory.

The first of the one-sided games to finish was at Anglesea Road where Dom Joyce and Bhavesh Lakhotia passed Terenure’s total of 146 without being parted to give Merrion a 10 wickets victory while North County’s 101 runs win over Railway Union was only the third best of the day; Cian Mulvaney took five wickets as the home side were bowled out for 127 in just 32 overs.

Pembroke hit the highest total, finishing their 40 overs on 272 for three with skipper Fiachra Tucker scoring 119 and Theo Lawson finishing 110 not out. Phoenix could manage only 160 in reply.

Clontarf eased into their 12th successive semi-final with a huge 127 runs to spare after totalling 263 for five. After Obus Pienaar, Bill Coghlan and Andrew Poynter had all scored 50s, David Delany hit 28 off 13 balls and then took three for eight from six overs as YM slumped to 80 for six.
