All the games in the quarter-finals of the Leinster Senior Cup went very much to form this weekend with wins for Clontarf, North County, Merrion and Pembroke.

Half centuries for Obus Pienaar, Bill Coghlan and Andrew Poynter saw Clontarf post 263-5 against an under-strength YMCA.

The Angelsea Road side managed just 136 in reply - three wickets for David Delany.

Centuries from skipper Fiachra Tucker and Theo Lawson paved the way for Pembroke's 108-run win over Phoenix.

Tucker hit 13 fours and 6 sixes in his 119 from 123 balls, as he and Lawson shared a 3rd wicket stand of 223.

Lawson hit 9 fours and 5 sixes in his unbeaten 110 from just 86 deliveries as Pembroke posted 272 for 3.

Fletcher Coutts hit 5 fours and 4 sixes in a rapid 61, sharing a fourth wicket stand of 91 with Rory Anders (44) to give Phoenix hope.

However, they collapsed losing seven wickets for 43, to be dismissed for 164 - four wickets for Gavin Hoey (4-34), three for Paul Lawson (3-15), and two for Alex Ridley, including the wicket of overseas player Brad Kneebone.

Merrion cruised into the semi-final with a ten-wicket demolition of Terenure. Half centuries from Dom Joyce and Lakhotia helped them pass their modest 146 target.

North County also eased into the last four as they beat Railway by 101 runs at Park Avenue.

Jonno Andrews (52) and Malcolm Nofal (48) were in the runs as County made 228 for 7.

Railway were never in contention after Kenny Carroll was trapped lbw by Eddie Richardson (2-13).

Left-arm spinner Cian Mulvaney ripped through the middle order taking 5 for 30 as Railway were 127 all out.
