It was a return to league action for many of Ireland’s cricketers on Thursday night after the conclusion of their series against New Zealand.

Irish skipper Laura Delany was to the fore as her Leinster side romped to an impressive eight-wicket win over YMCA.

Gaby Lewis thumped 57 from just 35 balls but YM only posted 106 for 5 in the face of some accurate Leinster bowling.

Delany then stroked an unbeaten 43 and Sophie MacMahon 41 in a 75-run partnership that sealed the comprehensive victory.

Clare Shillington’s half century was the catalyst for Pembroke’s nine-wicket win against Malahide.

Hannah Little took four for 16 as Malahide were dismissed for 90 - Sorcha O'Carolan Murphy top scored for the villagers with 38 and Anna Kerrison made 28.

Shillington’s unbeaten fifty alongside 33 not out from Orla Prendergast sealed the emphatic win with 8.5 overs unused.

Emma Paul top scored with 45 helped Merrion to a 47-run win against The Hills.

Rachel Delaney hit 5 fours and a six in an unbeaten 32 from just 13 balls, while Emily McKay made 27 as Merrion scored 143 for 3.

Two wickets apiece for Kate McKenna, Celeste Raack and Tilly Lugg restricted The Hills to 96 for 7 – Hannah Corcoran making 25.
