This week saw two matches taking place in the NW Ladies League, with early pace setters Strabane Saints and Fox Lodge in action.
The scheduled match between Bready and Newbuildings didn't take place as Newbuildings were unable to field a team.
In the first game Killyclooney played host to local rivals Fox Lodge in the Tyrone derby.
Batting first, Killyclooney’s start wasn’t ideal, losing the top four batters in the opening three overs leaving the total at 20 for 4.
A 68-run partnership between Jacqueline Hall (42) and Ella McCarron (11*), coupled with useful cameos from Ashley Lynch (7), Cody Wallace and Rachel McBrine (9), helped the hosts achieve a final total of 101.
Best with the ball were Angel Laird and Lucy Blair, who took three wickets apiece, while Sarah Black claimed 2 for 16.
The Foxies reply got off to a rapid start due to an unbeaten half-century from Sarah Black. although she lost fellow opener Ashley McGinnis with 15 on the board - Gail nelson with the wicket. Mollie Devine (30*) added an unbroken stand of 87 with Black (53*) to give Fox Lodge their fourth win of the season.
In the other game, Eglinton travelled to take on the league favourites, Strabane Saints.
Batting first, there was no sign of the carnage to come as Eglinton went to 15 without loss, but in a dramatic collapse they lost ten wickets for six runs to be skittled for just 21.
Chloe Deans (3-7) and Nicola Mullen(3-1) took three wickets each, while Megan Moorhead (2-5) and Denise McDonald (2-8) each picked up two apiece.
The Saint’s openers Denise McDonald (7*) and Ciara Crookes (5*) chased down the modest target in just 3 overs.
After achieving their fourth victory also, it now means that Strabane Saints are joint top of the league with Fox Lodge.
Speaking after the game, Strabane Saints captain, Megan Moorehead said: "I am over the moon with my girls performance tonight. With another win it has just got us even more determined to keep on the winning streak.
"I am pleased to see that all of our winter training sessions have benefitted us with the tremendous performances so far over the past four games. We look forward to whatever the reminder of the season holds for us."
