Half centuries from James Metcalfe and Johnny Waite led holders RBAI to a comprehensive 138-run win over Limavady to reach the Schools’ Cup final.

Metcalfe struck 10 fours and 2 sixes in a powerful 73 from just 53 balls to help Inst to a total of 238 for 8.

He shared a fourth wicket stand of 83 in just nine overs with Bradley McNamara (21).

Oliver Metcalfe (37) and Johnny Waite had put on an opening stand of 75 in 65 balls, with the latter hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes in a run-a-ball 51.

Warriors left-armer Graham Kennedy was best with the ball taking 3 for 35, while Robbie Millar took 2-42.

The Limavady reply never got going as they slumped to 120 all out, with Kennedy making 26 and Scott 21.

Ben Rose claimed three wickets, while there were two apiece for Matthew Peake and Sam McLarnon.

RBAI now meet Methody in the final at Muckamore next week, June 15th.
