Kerrie Tomlinson and Shauna Kavanagh were both among the runs as The Dragons beat The Scorchers by 45 runs in their match at Merrion.

Tomlinson - one of a number of overseas players to have enriched the Super 3 series - top scored with 54 from just 42 balls (7 fours) as the Dragons posted 151 for 3 from 19 overs.

She shared a stand of 49 for the 3rd wicket with Shauna Kavanagh, who impressed with an undefeated 49 from 39 balls (7 fours, 1 six).

The Pembroke all-rounder also added an unbroken 58 for the 4th wicket with Rachel Delaney (17*).

The Scorchers chase never materialised as their innings petered out to 106 for 7.

Openers Una Raymond-Hoey and Rebecca Stokell both made 16, while Australian Alana Ryan top scored as she hit six boundaries in her 35.

Lara Maritz impressed taking three wickets, while the Scorchers cause wasn't helped by suffering three run-outs.
