Civil Service North made it three wins in a row in the Lagan Valley Twenty20 Cup after their seven wickets victory over holders Waringstown on Sunday.

Set 200 to win, they eased to their target with an over to spare after Mark Ellison celebrated his call-up to the Northern Knights squad with 97 off 46 balls, hitting 10 fours and five sixes.

Ironically, Ellison has been picked for the three-day Championship game against Leinster Lightning at Comber, starting tomorrow, rather than today’s 50 overs contest.

Olly Metcalfe’s 73 ensured Instonians won the other Group A game against Armagh, while North Down moved to the top of Group B with a 66 runs victory over Carrickfergus.
