The NCU T20 Cup reached the halfway stage this week when three fixtures were completed on Sunday adding to the one played on Thursday night.
In Group A CSNI made it 3 out of 3 with a stunning win over Waringstown.
Waringstown had posted a formidable 199 with T20 specialist Greg Thompson top scoring with 66 and with thirties from Adam Dennison and James Hall.
With the ball it was two wickets each for Ben Adair, Andre Malan and Morgan Topping.
The CSNI reply was unstoppable, Marc Ellison blasted 97 off 46 (10x4, 5x6) and with Andre Malan, 42 off 35, the pair added 115 for the second wicket.
Graeme McCarter and Morgan Topping saw the visitors home and a glance at the CSNI card would show all their batsmen returning better than a run-a-ball figures.
Waringstown will look to their fielding where they dropped a number of chances, most significantly Marc Ellison at an early stage as the reason they failed to defend a seemingly unbeatable total.
A weakened Carrick side travelled to Comber and saw the home side score 174/5 with Peter Eakin (55) and Ally Shields (29) top scoring.
The Cowboys struggled to 108/9 Eakin adding to their misery taking 3-16 to claim a MOM performance to ensure that North Down were 66 run winners.
Armagh had Sammy Wilson's late order 39* to thank for getting them to 121/9 in their 20 overs, Andrew White claiming 3 wickets for Instonians.
The Instonian reply was led by young opener Olly Metcalfe who hit 73 off only 50 balls, falling only when the scores were tied.
A 4 wicket win for Instonians then duly completed with an over to spare.
The final game in this first round of matches took place on Thursday when Muckamore defended 135/5, Sam Gordon top scoring with 35 in that total, and then bowling out CIYMS for 125.
