Royal High Corstorphine have made a real statement of intent with the signing of Pakistan international cricketer Hammad Azam ahead of the new season.

Azam has played in five ODI and 11 T20 internationals for Pakistan as well as representing them in the 2010 Under 19 World Cup in New Zealand.

He played in the recent Pakistan Super League, and in his impressive first-class career to date has scored 3340 runs at an average of 32.11, while taking 160 wickets at 21.89.

RHC captain Joe Kinghorn-Gray welcomed the signing, telling the official club website: “To have such a high calibre player at the club is a real coup.

“We are all looking forward to playing with him and can't wait to see what he can offer on and off the pitch.”
