There has been a lot of work going on at Ballygomartin Road and this could well be the year they gain promotion back to the Premier League.
They have a new overseas player in JJ Strydom who should add depth to their line-up.
Club captain Jamie Gibson welcomed the start of the season saying: "We look forward to the 2018 season with optimism and hope to bring the form we showed in 2017 into this summer.
"We have a strong and experienced squad of players who will once again look to challenge for promotion however we are very much aware of competitive nature of Section One.
"We have continued the work off the field over the winter, having the electronic scoreboard installed, which is a further tick on the list in terms of the development of Ballygomartin Road.
"There will once again be a strong focus on building our youth section with a plan to field teams at youth level which has been a long term goal since returning to Ballygomartin Road.
"Finally we welcome members from Newforge Cricket Club who have assisted us in being able to form a 4th XI for the first time in a number of years."
