Neil Rock has started the season with a bang notching a double century for his school side.

Fifth year pupil Rock who has already represented Ireland at Under19 level scored an unbeaten 201 for Catholic University School in the match versus The High School.

This becomes the third highest recorded score in Leinster Schools' cricket and Eoin Morgan a former fellow pupil at CUS and fellow left-hander would I'm sure be impressed.

There were two other double hundreds by Noel Farley, St Mary's, and Gerry O'Hanlon, Belvedere, more than 60 years ago.

It's been quite a week for the young 'Pebbles' as he is known, earlier it was revealed that he would be representing the Northern Knights in the Senior Interprovincial tournaments this coming season.

One of the few to score a double ton up north is Rock's new Knights team-mate Mark Adair, who retired on 204 at Comber playing for Sullivan Upper against Regent House back in 2011.

I'm sure someone will be suggesting soon that it's time for 'Pebbles' to change that nickname to 'Rocky'.
