Merrion are back where they belong in the top flight of Leinster cricket and they have a number of new and familiar faces at Angelsea Road for the 2018 season.
"Merrion are excited to welcome our first Indian overseas professional. Poonish is a very dynamic bowling all rounder," said a club spokesperson.
"He is a current Ranji Trophy player for Haryana, India. He is a delighted to join Merrion and looks forward for new adventure.
"Jack Carty is a nephew of club coach Pat Carty. He plays for University of Queensland in Queensland First Grade. He is an Irish passport holder coming here with Ireland international ambitions.
"In a new and exciting initiative, all home games will be live streamed: We’re really excited about the newly purchased live streaming system. It will allow us to give overseas members and those not at the ground on match day a chance to follow our matches and produce highlights packages for people to watch if they miss the action. It will also be used as a coaching aid for our coach so it is a great asset to us as a club.
"Lanky returns after a year in retirement and the club are excited about his return. We've been training hard in the build up to the season with both fitness and winter nets and everyone is excited for the coming season.
"The club has a fantastic youth structure and Nicky Kenny has been brilliant, working hard with the underage players coming through the club who will be looking to cement their place in our senior men's and women's ranks which is great to see.
"There's tough opposition this year in the league and it'll be all to play for so it should make for some exciting games."
