They have also appointed a full-time Cricket Development Manager with Cricket Ireland's Michael Hingston taking on the role.

Gary Stewart, Chair of Cricket said; "Appointing Fintan McAllister as Club Captain was a no-brainer really after the positivity and professionalism he's brought over the last few years.

"We have a big emphasis on youth development and he is the perfect fit to drive the right culture of personal improvement across the club.

"We've also employed Michael Hingston as a full time Cricket Development Manager and both of them have a focus on transitioning youngsters from junior to senior cricket. It's working well and there's some great work going on behind the scenes.

"Recruiting Paris as our Women's Coach is also a positive step, we have a fantastic girls section and the club are really keen to ensure equality across the board with the same structures in place for Mens and Womens Cricket.

The club have high hopes for David O'Halloran and Stewart added.

"David came into the fold last year and put in some great performances towards the end of the season. He's grown about four foot since September so we're hoping to get some good pace and bounce out of his bowling as well."

Former Irish international Fintan McAllister takes the captaincy reins and looked forward to the new season: I'm delighted to be captaining the team this year and build on the great work Alan Reynolds has put in place with the lads .

"We've been training hard in the build up to the season with both fitness and winter nets and everyone is excited for the coming season.

"The club has a fantastic youth structure and Hinky has been brilliant, working hard with the underage players coming through the club who will be looking to cement their place in our senior men's and women's ranks which is great to see.

"There's tough opposition this year in the league and it'll be all to play for so it should make for some exciting games.

"As coach of the club it's great to see all the work behind the scenes that has been going on in every aspect of the club with the youth, women and men's section.
