Apex Cricket Tour to Glamorgan CCC

Apex Cricket Academy is embarking on its annual Winter training trip this coming weekend as 17 players aged from 13 to 18 will be immersed in cricket as they spend three days in Cardiff over the mid- term.

The boys, who represent 5 different clubs around Munster, will spend over 8 hours training at the Swalec Stadium and will no doubt benefit from the state of the art facilities at Glamorgan County Cricket Club.

On day 1 they will watch the first xi squad train in the morning and get to interact with the playing staff afterwards, while then taking part in their own session lead by Head Coach Robert Croft.

Day 2 will involve a longer session and a chance to really focus on certain skills that they have identified as areas of work, based on the winter program so far.

Apex’s Ted Williamson said “To be able to spend that much time training at such a great indoor venue is invaluable for the boys. Theres a lot of character building boxes being ticked on a trip like this, while training, travelling and generally being away from home but it wouldn’t have been possible without the hospitality of Glamorgan CCC and the relationships what have been built with all their staff.”

The Academy, will for the first time be looking to return during the season to play a number of games against high quality opposition.

The touring party is:
