With North West clubs preparing for the onset of the 2018 season it would appear that over at Beechgrove the emphasis has been on maintaining the status quo over the past few weeks.

Andy Britton has again been entrusted with the skipper's armband for the forthcoming summer with Niall McDonnell his deputy on this occasion.

A spokesman for the Waterside outfit explained that Britton had the full backing of club members and that the pace bowler had already been working on the make-up of his team for the new campaign.

"As always there has been plenty of rumour about who is leaving or joining Brigade, however we are very confident that the majority of the current squad will still be here and available this summer.

"On top of that the club is confident of being able to add one or two quality players to the panel between now and April.

"We expect that the Premier Division will once again be highly competitive and we want to be challenging for trophies as is always the hope."
