Cricket Leinster have opted to replace North Kildare in Division Two with a Munster Development side.

The move will mean maintaining the same number of teams in the division keeping the same league structures with no knock-on effects further down the ladder.

The move will certainly bolster cricket in the Munster region, giving players valuable exposure to a higher level of cricket.

The players will be drawn from all Munster clubs with the exception of Cork County who already compete in the second tier of Leinster cricket.

The decision received a mixed reaction with one high profile cricketer calling it a "disgrace'.

There's no doubt that it wasn't an easy problem for Leinster to resolve, but they have put plans in motion to have the structure issue resolved for 2019.
