Clontarf have unveiled South African Obus Pienaar as their overseas player for the 2018 season.

The left-arm pace bowler and hard-hitting top order batsman enjoyed two prolific seasons with Waringstown in the NCU in 2011 and 2013, and has also played as a professional in The Netherlands.

"Clontarf is a really successful club and I'm very keen to win some trophies with the team and have a great summer," 28 year-old Pienaar told Clontarf after signing the deal.

Head coach John Mooney was clearly delighted the capture of such a high profile cricketer saying, "Obus made a huge impact on Irish cricket during his time with Waringstown and we hope that he will do the same with Clontarf this year."
