Netherlands fixtures bonanza on the cards
It may have been four long years in the ODI wilderness but next month will see the exile ended when ICC ratify The Netherlands place in the FTP by virtue of their victorious World Cricket League campaign.
With their place guaranteed on the FTP as the 13th ODI country, the proposed schedule sees a mouth-watering array of fixtures for The Oranje as they go toe-to-toe with the games cricketing heavyweights.
In the 2020/21 season they have home series against Paksitan and West Indies, while they are due to travel to play Zimbabwe and South Africa.
That's followed in 2021/22 by England and and Ireland on home soil and away tours to Afghanistan and New Zealand.
The Netherlands are attempting to fill the fixture void between now and the start of the ODI-league, and of course much will depend on how their World Cup qualification hopes pan out.
While they were unable to squeeze into the Ireland/Scotland/UAE tri-series which gets under way in Dubai next week, they have managed to nail down at least one and possibly two games against Ireland in South Africa ahead of the WCQ.
