Kane in demand
Irish international Tyrone Kane is a player very much in demand ahead of the new season.
The 23 year-old is currently playing overseas in Australia for the winter but has attracted interest from both Leinster and the NCU.
Three Leinster clubs have indicated a desire to capture the Merrion all-rounder's signature for the 2018 campaign.
Newspaper speculation this week also linked him to a switch to the NCU with CSNI rumoured to be interested but there has been no contact with the player from the Stormont club to date.
It is believed Kane would be open to a switch northwards but a potential stumbling block may be his involvement in the inter-pro series.
Kane has been a pivotal figure in Leinster Lightning dominance, with the Dubliners winning 13 of the 15 trophies on offer since the competition was reintroduced in 2013.
However, Northern Knights have been reluctant in the past to play players who have moved from other unions unless they have shown a serious commitment.
Kane won seven caps for Ireland in the T20 format in 2015 but fell out of favour with Head Coach John Bracewell despite Ireland's horrific slide down the international rankings to the bottom 18th place slot.
