The Netherlands ODI status is expected to be ratified by the ICC at a meeting in February, ahead of the Cricket World Cup qualifier.

It's almost four years since they relinquished their coveted ODI status, losing a crucial World Cup qualifier to Kenya in New Zealand.

Their last ODI was against Canada in the same tournament, an 8-wicket win on January 28th 2014.

An ICC spokeperson also confirmed that all the current ODI teams will retain their status until the end of the Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in March.

At present, as well as the 12 Full Members, Scotland, UAE, Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea have temporary ODI status.

The ICC meeting before the qualifiers will determine the number and formula for any additional countries to the 12 Full Members and The Netherlands.

They have a number of options with the most likely being the awarding to at least an additional three slots based on finishing positions at the qualifers in Zimbabwe.

The ICC have also confirmed that the schedule for the World Cup Qualifiers will be released in the first week of January.
