The Netherlands are keen to join a planned tri-series between Scotland, Ireland and the UAE scheduled for Dubai next month.
The Dutch, fresh from winning the World Cricket Championship, are hopeful of joining the trio in a series which would provide valuable match experience ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe.
With Ryan ten Doeschate back in the squad, the Dutch have increased their hopes of qualification from what will be one of the mostly fiercely contested tournaments in recent times.
Ten teams will battle it out for just two places at the 2019 World Cup in England.
West Indies and Afghanistan are the top seeds, ahead of Zimbabwe and Ireland. However, they will be pushed all the way by The Netherlands, Scotland, PNG and Hong Kong.
The final two places at the qualification event will be determined by the top two sides in WCL Division Two next month. UAE, Namibia, Nepal, Kenya, Canada and Oman are the six sides battling it out for the two slots.
