Canada have been warming up for World Cricket League Division 2 next February with a short tour of Barbados.

They played four games against the University of West Indies, winning the first two matches but slipping to defeat in the final two as the Bajans levelled the series.

Nicholas Kirton scored a century for the students in the 3rd game, while Ryan Hinds - who played 15 Tests for the West Indies - was also among the runs in the victory.

It was in truth very much a low-key affair as the Canadians experimented with quite a few players using up to ten bowlers in some of the games.

Highlights of the series from a Canadian perspective were a century from Hamza Tariq and two half centuries from Bhavindu Adhihetty.

Canada, Oman, Kenya, UAE, Nepal and hosts Namibia will battle it out for the two places on offer to complete the line-up for the World Cup Qualifiers which are being held in Zimbabwe the following month.
