Kevin Prior, eldest son of former Irish international John, makes his first grade debut for Camberwell Magpies this weekend.
The off-break bowler has impressed for the Victoria CA club's second grade side this season and gets his elevation on the back of several match-winning displays.
The 24 year-old joined the club as a 15 year-old and has gradually worked his way up the ranks, with a best-bowling haul of 6-83 off 32 consecutive overs.
His younger brother Luke has played for Clontarf seconds and thirds in recent seasons.
John Prior played 37 times for Ireland between 1981-86, scoring what was at the time the fastest hundred for the Irish - his brutal 51 ball attack on Warwickshire being one of the most destructive innings witnessed on Irish soil.
His innings contained 21 boundaries - including five successive ones off England Test bowler Gladstone Small.
Hi9s innings remained the fastest until overtaken by Peter Gillespie who hit a century against MCC in 47 balls in 2005, while Kevin O'Brien's 50-ball hundred against England in the 2011 World Cup means it's now in third place in the quickest hundred ranks..
