Hosts Malaysia made it two wins from two today as they easily beat Myanmar in the South East Asian Games men's 50 over cricket tournament in Kuala Lumpur.

Myanmar's captain Zarni Thein won the toss and chose to bat first. If he was hoping to be able to set a tough chase for the home side, he was in for a rude awakening as Malaysia bundled the visitors out for just 45. Derek Duraisingam was the pick of the bowlers with 5-26, whilst Muhammad Wafiq also chipped in with 4-13.

Malaysia knocked off the required runs in just four overs to win by 10 wickets. Nearly all of them were scored by Shafiq Sharif who clubbed 37 from just 16 balls.

The result ends Myanmar's 50 over campaign with one win from their four games. It also confirms the medalists as Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, though the exact colours of the medals are yet to be known.

Malaysia's women were also scheduled to be in action against Myanmar today, but the late withdrawal of Myanmar's women - who were set to make their international debut - has meant the start of the women's tournament has been delayed until tomorrow, when Indonesia - also set to make their international debut in women's cricket - will play Thailand. The Thai men's team will also be in action, taking on Singapore later in the day.
