It was a sodden Cloughan, the home of Templepatrick Cricket Club that greeted the arrival of the players for the crunch match in the U11 Interprovincial Tournament.

With rain sweeping across the ground the coaches took a momentous decision to try to play some meaningful cricket - the game would be moved indoors!

With the indoor 3G playing area at Ulster University available it was a case of 'follow me boys' as a procession made its way to the Jordanstown site and a 25 over match was possible even with the delay to the start.

Leinster won the toss and elected to field only to find NCU opener Ryan Hunter in ferocious form.
Ryan hit 11x4 and 5x6 in his 80 ball score of 94* and dominated the NCU innings where the next highest score was Finn Lutton with 19*.
Srihan Karpe's 2-19 off 5 overs the best return of the Leinster bowlers.

And it was Karpe with the bat scoring 15 as he watched Adam Leckey and Angus Carson claim 2 wickets each to reduce the visitors to 24/4.
When Karpe was run out at 26 and Evan Kelleher also fell the same way Leinster were 33/6.
A partnership of 37 between Shane Butterly (20) and Donncha Tucker (20) took them to 70/6 but a hat-trick from NCU skipper Harry Dyer ensured that there would be no tail end heroics.
Dyer finished with figures of 4-12 while Adam Leckey's opening burst saw him return 2-3 off 5 overs and Angus Carson 2-26 off his 5.

A 66 run win that ensures that the title will be decided after the final match NWCU v NCU tomorrow (THUR) at Glendermott CC.

At UU Jordanstown (Indoor) 16 August - NCU beat LCU by 66 runs.

NCU 140/9 (25 overs; R Hunter 94*, S Karpe 2-19)
LCU 74/10 (17.3 overs; S Butterly 20, D Tucker 20, H Dyer 4-12 inc. hat-trick, A Leckey 2-3, A Carson 2-26)
