Leinster Under 11's started their interpro series with an emphatic 128-run win against the NW at Balbriggan.

Half centuries from Srihan Karpe and Macdara Cosgrove propelled Leinster to a daunting total of 210 for 4 in their 30 overs.

The pair shared a third wicket partnership of 105, as Cosgrove struck 6 fours in his 46-ball innings, while opener Karpe was slightly more circumspect, striking two boundaries in his 70-ball knock.

Ollie Tiley (23*) and Shane Butterly were also among the runs in an impressive display.

James Bell (3-39) was the best of the NW bowling unit.

IN reply, the visitors struggled against Leinster with only Scott Macbeth (14) reaching double figures as they were dismissed for 82.

Niall Cox took 2 for 12, while seven other bowlers were among the wickets.

Leinster travel to play the NCU at Templepatrick today (WED), before the series concludes on Thursday when the NW host the NCU.
