Porterfield set for Warriors debut

WILLIAM Porterfield is being lined up to play for the North West Warriors on Sunday in their inter-provincial Cup match against the Northern Knights at The Lawn.
The Ireland captain has lost his place in the Warwickshire side and with less than a fortnight before the Intercontinental Cup game against the Netherlands, Porterfield will be desperate for match action and his home union will be keen to have him.
The left-hander was refused clearance by the then Warwickshire coach Dougie Brown to play in last season's 50-over game between the same two teams at Eglinton.
One international who will not be playing is Niall O’Brien, who has to complete his two-match ban after being reported for two Level One offences in the last inter-provincial championship game against Leinster Lighting.
