It was an improved batting performance by the Afghanistan side in yesterday's final T20I against the West Indies in St Kitts, but it wasn't enough as the West Indies wrapped up a 3-0 series win.

Afghanistan batted first after winning the toss, and whilst Javed Ahmadi was out for a duck early on, they were able to get a solid foundation thanks to 35 from Noor Ali Zadran and 38 from Mohammed Nabi. However the next highest score was Shafiqullah's 25.

They did manage to bat out their overs and score 146-6 though. Kesrick Williams was the pick of the West Indies bowlers with 3-34.

The home side lost Chadwick Walton for a duck in their first over, but a 61 run second wicket partnership between Marlon Samuels and Evin Lewis helped keep the West Indies on track. That partnership ended when Lewis was trapped lbw by Mohammad Nabi for 19.

It was the fourth wicket partnership between Samuels and Jason Mohammed that won the game for the hosts. The pair put on an unbroken 65, with Samuels scoring 89 from 66 balls, to help their team to a seven wicket win with four balls to spare.

These two sides now meet in a three match ODI series in St Lucia, which starts on Friday.
