The North West Warriors have announced their squad ahead of next Monday's one-day game against the Northern Knights at Strabane Park (10.45 am) and the historic 3-dayer against the same opposition at Eglinton starting on Tuesday (11 am).

Head Coach Ian McGregor has to do without Gary McClintock and Andy Britton, both due to work committments while Niall O'Brien is also missing from the squad that lost at the Hills in their opening game.

In their place come in Donemana's overseas player Imran Butt, Bready skipper David Scanlon and Eglinton's Ross Allen who has completed his studies in Leeds.

All three are quality replacements- Scanlon made a huge impact on his Warriors' debut last year while Allen has been turning in some excellent performances with both bat and ball in his temporary home before returning at the weekend.

Looking forward to a really busy week, the Head Coach said these were exciting times for cricket in the North West.

"To be honest we really felt this season that the 50-over game was where we needed to focus more, given recent results. I don't believe we've come close to doing ourselves justice in this format and its something we have to work on."

"There has been a very positive vibe around the camp in the run up to this week- three games in three formats at three venues. This is the sort of challenge that encouraged me to put my hand up in the first place and its the challenge that we'll be asking the players to embrace as well."

"I think we've picked the strongest squad available to us and we'll focus on Monday first before turning our attention to the 3-day game."

"The nucleus of the squad may be fairly youthful but with the two overseas players and a trio of Ireland Internationals I believe we will be very competitive this week."

"Lack of talent has never been our issue but we have to build on the experience we have been gaining both at this higher level and in the different formats. It's more about the application required than skills now and I believe we can make a real mark over this summer."
