The twelve players to represent the Munster Reds in their historic opening Interprovincial T20 encounter against the Northern Knights has been announced by the Reds selectors.

The Mardyke Cricket Grounds is the place to be this coming Friday evening as Munster take their first step back into Interprovincial competition.

The squad features a strong blend of Munster-based players, supplemented by some of the country’s finest young talent, and the group will look to put Munster back on the map as the Province continues to develop young talent for the future.

Stephan Grobler, in his fourth season now with Cork County captains the squad, and brings a wealth of first-class experience, while the return of young Tipperary native Aaron Cawley from England is a massive boost to the side.

The selectors have brought in two in form and hard hitting batsmen from Leinster League cricket in Nicolaas Pretorius and Robert Forrest, who will provide valuable experience to the overall squad.

In addition, the wily and well-travelled Cork County spinner Muhammad Saddique also comes in to increase the spin options available.
