UAE were unable to make it a third close match at the World Cup today as they crashed to a nine wicket defeat to India in Perth.

UAE captain Mohammad Tauqir won the toss and chose to bat first. The UAE struggled in the unfamiliar conditions of the WACA ground, with most batsmen getting out for single figures. Shaiman Anwar top scored with 35, and shared in a final wicket partnership of 31 that took the UAE total to 102.

India then batted until the scheduled break, reaching 88-1. They took just 2,5 overs after the interval to complete their nine wicket win, Rohit Sharma top scoring with an unbeaten 57.

UAE will next be in action against Pakistan - currently bottom of the table - on Wednesday in Napier.
