The East Africa Women's Championship was played last week in Nairobi, with hosts Kenya being joined by defending champions Uganda along with Tanzania and Rwanda.

The group stages saw Kenya and Uganda breeze past Tanzania and Rwanda, with Kenya's 336 run win over Rwanda being a particularly poor match for a hapless Rwandan side. That match also saw the tournament's only century - a huge innings of 186 not out from 109 balls by Sarah Bakita.

The final on Saturday saw Uganda bowled out for 94 by Kenya, but still win by ten runs after restricting the Kenyans to 84/8 from their 45 overs. Tanzania beat Rwanda by 8 wickets in the third place play-off, Dotto Mayowa taking 7/10 in the Rwandan innings.
