Highly rated left arm spinner George Dockrell has just returned from attending coaching sessions with Somerset in England.
The 16 year old made his Ireland 'A' debut earlier this year after a series of impressive performances in both Leinster and under-age international cricket.
Former England all-rounder Jack Birkenshaw ran his watchful eye over the youngster last weekend at their centre of excellence, and was very impressed by what he saw.
Somerset Director of Cricket Brian Rose told the county website, "George was recommended by some of my Irish contacts in Dublin, so we're having a close look at him. He plays for Leinster and has already taken a lot of wickets. Contacts with young Irish cricketers could be useful in the future regarding the Kolpak situation."
