Following their 100% record on the Samoa leg on their Pacific tour, MCC's winning run were brought to an abrupt halt in Fiji - by rain as well as defeat.

In their first game another sharp bowling performance from Tom Stayt (4-52) couldn't prevent a Fiji XI setting a testing target of 249-9 from their 50-overs.

Mike Powell's 81 was the highlight of the MCC reply with Richard Wilkinson's 47 down the order at eight offering late hope - but the Club fell short, all out of 231.

Winning ways were restored in the next match, despite rainy conditions affecting the outfield.

In a match reduced to 35-overs each, MCC batted first, scoring 155-8. Promoted up the order to bat at five, Wilkinson top scored with 41.

MCC removed the Fiji batting line-up for just 124 to clinch a 31-run victory.
