Last weekend we got a preview of the next generation of cricketers in the Channel Islands as Guernsey Under-12s played hosts to their Jersey counterparts.

Guernsey batted first and were bowled out for 105 in their 38th over, Z Pallot and E Smith taking 3/12 and 3/8 respectively. Jersey's chase left them needing seven runs from the final over, but they could only make six, the match ending a tie. M Stokes was the pick of the Guernsey bowlers with 3/15 from his eight overs.

It is the third consecutive close finish in the Under-12 Inter-insular. Two matches last year saw Guernsey win off the last ball in the first match and win by just three runs in the second.

Guernsey tied with Jersey
Guernsey 105 (37.1 overs, E Smith 3/8, Z Pallot 3/12)
Jersey 105 (40 overs, M Stokes 3/15, T Belton 3/23)
