Bangladesh stormed to a 9 wicket win over Malaysia at the Queen's Park Oval, Trinidad on Saturday to secure 3rd place in the CLICO International Under-15 tournament. Malaysia won the toss and decided to bat, but only opening bat Zubair Asyraf (26 runs) provided much resistance.
Malaysia tumbled from 47 runs for 2 wickets to 73 all out. Off-spinner Khaza Khairuddin took 4 wickets for 15 runs in 9 overs and Naseef Ahmed took 4 wickets for just 9 runs in 5.2 overs. Bangladesh lost a wicket with just 8 runs on the board, but Didar Hossain soon made 41 runs not out and the winning score was achieved in the 12th over. Anisur Rahman was left 22 runs not out. Still, Malaysia did quite well in reaching 4th place after coming in as a late replacement for Zimbabwe.
West Indies and Pakistan meet in Sunday's Final, also at the Queen's Park Oval, with West Indies keen to avenge a narrow defeat in the Final of the Knock-out Cup phase of this inaugural CLICO International Under-15 event.
