After yesterday releasing a provisional squad of players for the two match series against the MCC team that is currently touring Uganda, Cricket Kenya today released the final squad that will travel to Kampala. Due to the fact that the final make up of the team was in part determined by whether some of the members can get leave from school, decisions on the final fifteen to travel had been held off until today.

Writing from Nairobi, Cricket Kenya CEO Tom Tikolo stated:

"The MCC were supposed to travel to Kenya but due to the post election skirmishes, the trip to Kenya was canceled. We at Cricket Kenya feel that we have to continue showing the world that we are for peace and brotherhood and that's why we have decided that our boys should travel and play these matches."

It is a strong looking squad with several of the key players showing good form in either the NPCA 45 Over tournament, the Sahara Elite League 20-20 competition, or both. Captain Elijah Otieno and opening bowler Nelson 'Mandela' Odhiambo both impressed in their opening games of the Elite League, Alex Obanda has just hit consecutive fifties followed by 47* in both forms of the game, while Nilesh Jeshani made an unbeaten 150 in his last match in the NPCA tournament.

So far, the MCC are having a mixed run in Uganda and the young Kenyans will be hoping to put in a good showing as well as earning some vital experience against a team that has several very experienced First Class players of its own.

The Traveling squad is as follows:-
Elijah Otieno (Captain)
Alex Obanda
Rakep Patel (V-Captain)
Nelson Odhiambo
James Ngoche
Shem Obado
Peter Kituku
Harshil Sanghani
Pritesh Lalji

Karan Kaul
Mitesh Sanghani
Kush Parmar
Runish Gudka
Dominic Wesonga

Other players that were shortlisted but narrowly missed out are:
Mansukh Naran

The coach will be Josphat Irungu with David Odhiambo traveling as Team Manager and in his capacity as an umpire.
