This may have been a weakened Jamaican side, with big-hitting Chris Gayle missing, amongst others, but that didn't stop them from thrashing the Bahamas by 118 runs in the Stanford 20/20 yesterday.
Jamaica won the toss and chose to bat. They promptly raced to 191/4 in their 20 overs, Danza Hyatt top-scoring with 71 from 45 balls. Their bowlers then bowled tightly, restricting the ICC affiliate member to 73/7 from their 20 overs. Ryan Tappin was the only Bahamas player to reach double figures.
The next match in the tournament comes on Friday when Montserrat play Nevis. The next associate/affiliate action comes when Bermuda take on Guyana on Sunday. The winner of that match faces Jamaica in the quarter final a week on Saturday. With Bermuda facing heavy defeats on their warm-up tour of Jamaica, it's going to take a lot to avoid a 0-4 record for ICC associate/affiliate teams in this tournament.
