Greetings from Delhi!

It has been a very busy 10 days or so. The schedule has been packed full of training, public relations activities, plenty of fitness and even managing some time for some shopping!!

I am playing on the Dehli Jets team with Taufiq Umar of Pakistan, Paul Nixon of England , Marvin Attapatu of Sri Lanka and South African Dale Benkenstein. Being on the same team as Paul Nixon means my keeping opportunties in the games will be limited,  but working with Paul on a daily basis is already proving dividends .

I have played against Dale plenty of times in County Cricket, and he is also someone with plenty of knowledge to inpart on the team. The ICL is moving along smoothly and we have been coaching at many schools and clubs to promote the tournament. I must say, having done plenty of coaching around the World, the standard of the kids here is exceptional. They all know so much about cricket and also Associates cricket, as they asked plenty of questions about Ireland.

We have played a couple of friendly games and everyone has had good time in the middle. We leave for Dehli on Tuesday and the tournament starts in Chandigargh on the 30th which should be an awesome experience.

I look forward to taking on Big Boyd (Rankin) in our third game, I think. All in all it has been a great start to my trip in India and one that I hope to continue to enjoy and be successful in.

The ICL will be a success I am sure and it has to be so the future generations of Indian youth get the chance to play professional cricket in the future.

As our role as Internationals playing with the locals we are trying to help the players who are very talented in their roles in the team with the 20/20 version of the game. They are showing great progress.

 Till next time.

Regards Niall O'Brien
