Despite mutterings that the match was not to go ahead due to a lack of ICC funding, the play-off between Israel and Croatia to decide the final place in Division Two of the European Championship will go ahead in November, the Israel Cricket Association announced yesterday.

The match will take place on either the 11th or 18th of November at a venue still to be determined. A reserve day will be set aside in case of rain.

This will be the first time Israel has hosted international cricket outside of the Maccabiah Games, and ICA chairman Stanley Perlman is looking forward to it, saying, "We have been trying to host internatnational cricket in Israel for many years now, and hope that the visit of the Croatian team will pave the way for other countries to tour in the future. We will invite the Croatians to play a couple of friendly matches before the game against our national team as well."
