The rain decimating the European season seems to be happening all over the world, as both matches in Malaysia yesterday were affected by the rain.

The Nepal v Thailand match was completely rained off, but play did get underway in the match between the hosts and Hong Kong, two of the favourites for this tournament.

The match was initially reduced to 39 overs, though Hong Kong could not bat out those overs and were bowled out for 139 in the 38th over, Courtney Kruger top-scoring with 44. Rain then reduced the match even further, giving Malaysia a target of 93 runs from 23 overs. This they achieved in the 21st over, led by Faris Almas with 38 to win by 7 wickets.
